Imagine if you could have a calm birth where you felt in control and supported.

You're speaking my language!

WELL, IT HAPPENED.

You finally realized that you need an exit plan for the baby growing inside you, and you can't ignore it anymore.

Birth can be EASIER, with a little help.

HI, I’M AMELIA

I help families have an empowering birth and postpartum experience. When I'm a part of the birth and postpartum support team, my clients don't feel scared and worried about birth and bringing home a new baby.

I advocate, educate, and empower so YOU can experience a calm and supported birth.

FOR AS LONG AS I CAN REMEMBER

I have been passionate about education and making a difference in my community.

After getting a master's degree in Public Health Education from UNC-Greensboro, I worked for 10 years in public health education, specifically with reproductive, sexual, gender, and perinatal health.

IT DIDN’T TAKE ME LONG

to see that doulas really do make a difference.

I actually trained as a doula with DONA before going to grad school, but only decided to leave my job and recertify with DTI to start my doula practice after seeing the benefits of doula work in the community.

TODAY, I APPROACH DOULA WORK

from a community-wide health perspective. I help families during their reproductive health journey, and I also train doulas so more families can benefit from the unique support a doula can provide.

I AM SO PASSIONATE ABOUT THIS WORK

I have been working with doulas across the state of NC to develop a state-wide doula organization that will advocate for better perinatal care outcomes, ensure everyone in our state has access to a doula of their choice, and secure fair and equitable compensation for doulas and their services.

LEARN MORE ABOUT MY BACKGROUND

I believe everyone is entitled to quality reproductive health education and supportive perinatal care regardless of age, race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, religion, and economic status.

Doulas are for everyone.

 SOUND GOOD?

Let's connect, so we can talk about how I can take you from worried to empowered (whether your a parent or new doula).
